Preview: Suzie Q UK Tour 2010

The amazing Suzie Q returns to the UK for another tour of not-to-be-missed pole dance masterclasses!

Suzie has been pole dancing for around ten years now, starting in a "Gentleman's Club" in Sydney and now performing and teaching worldwide. She has won Miss Pole Dance NSW for the past two years... and has an ongoing goal of winning Miss Pole Dance Australia (thus far she has come Second, Second, "Sponsor's choice", Second and Third). Suzie is co-owner of Suzie Q Pole Studio in Sydney and has an amazing team of teachers (including Zahra and Stacey - winners of the Australian Pole Dance Championship's Open Pairs Division) and an amazing Manager who, Suzie says "keeps everything together while I go galavanting around the UK!"

Suzie is returning to the UK to teach a string of top-notch masterclasses at various venues all over the country. The classes are aimed at anyone who loves pole - Intermediate through to Advanced and Super Advanced students are all welcome. Sessions will be adjusted to suit the level of workshop participants.

Each class will consist of one of Suzie's killer warm ups (ask anyone!) some new combos, (her favourite) spinning moves and she's also bringing some new approaches to pole dancing that she wants students to try out.

Suzi says, "I'm a big fan of 'pole performance' so I'm hoping to help participants develop their own 'pole style' or at least come away thinking 'I never looked at a pole like that before'!!!

I can be a bit aggressive when teaching - anyone who has ever done a class with me will have heard me yelling 'Point Your F****** Toes!' on more than a few occasions (Hey - I'm Australian - swearing is part of my everyday vocabulary)... But really I am there to help students improve their pole style. I am a firm believer that 'Its not what you do on a pole - It's how you do it' and I will do my utmost to ensure all the girls and guys in my classes are executing their moves in the best way possible!"

Suzie's plans for this year are to enter Miss Pole Dance Australia. "This time, I plan to go back to just trying to do a fun show. Last year I did a show about not doing a show but I definately prefer my character-based performances that make people grin. It just feels more 'me'.

I'm also hoping to enter the Australasian Pole Dance Championships, both as a solo and also as a double with my partner Toby J. Thusfar our training sessions have been a little disappointing as he seems to be having trouble holding onto the pole with his legs. His excuse is that 'it huuuurts'. So I keep telling him to 'harden up princess'. Fingers crossed we can get something together in time!"
