Preview: All Ireland Pole Dance Championships

Calling all Irish Pole Dancers - The search is on to find the ultimate pole dancing champion who best embodies the spirit of pole dance, with the launch of 'The All Ireland Pole Dance Championships 2010'

These elite athletes will demonstrate through a choreographed routine, the strength and agility that Pole Dance now represents in the field of sporting entertainment and will play a key role in increasing the profile of pole fitness throughout Ireland, north and south.

El Fegan, organiser of the event insists “All polers from Ireland are invited to enter the competition weather they are pole school attendees, independent or self taught. There will be a solo, doubles and male section”.

Having invited all schools in Ireland to partake in the competition the following schools have so far responded and are putting forward their ‘best’ for the solo section.

Pole Stars, Pole Perfect, Pole Dance Ireland, Showgirl Studio and Pole Position. If for some reason we have overlooked your school and you would like to be involved please contact Polercise ASAP.

El adds “We want to give everyone an opportunity to enter this competition so in addition Polercise Ltd will be holding Preliminary heats for those independent or who would like to enter outside of their school and invite everyone to apply”

Applications for heats are to be received by March 31st and will be held in the following studios on the following dates;

Dundalk: Saturday 17th April 2010

Banbridge: Saturday 17th April 2010

Belfast: Sunday 18th April 2010

Letterkenny: Saturday 24th April 2010

L'Derry: Saturday 24th April 2010

The finals will be held on Sunday 23rd May 2010 at Spring and Airbrake, Ormeau Avenue, Belfast, were a panel of judges will select an overall winner.

El points out “Not only do you win the prestigious title of The All Ireland Pole Dance Champion, crown, sash, trophy, and a BUNCH of excellent prizes from our lovely sponsors, the solo winner will have the privilege of being offered a place in the BIPDC 2010 and the EPDC 2010 to represent Ireland. So get to it and put your form in ASAP”.
