Pole Unity: A Celebration of Pole Dance and Fitness!

June 26th 2010 - a fantastic display of pole dancing from all abilities, promoting fun and fitness for all!

This years event at Wyllyotts Theatre was the fourth Pole Unity event in aid of the Make a Wish Foundation. The aim is to give every pole dancer in the country the opportunity to show off their skills in a non-competitive environment, from beginners to the advanced, with the additional aim of promoting pole dancing as a reputable and effective form of exercise and fitness, accessible to all.

By the time 2010s event took place, over 70 schools from around the world had submitted entries for the 28 places available, demonstrating the ever-increasing popularity of the sport. Those submitting were required to compose a professionally choreographed routine to music, with themes and costumes as appropriate, and each group had to be comprised of 4-8 members.

As ever, the event was attended by a record number of spectators, all of whom would definitely agree that the standard of performance was exceptional and the atmosphere was perfectly suited to the event a fun and encouraging event designed to inspire confidence in performers, raise the profile of a fantastic form of exercise and raise money for a great cause.
