Preview: The Pole Factor
5th May 2012, Sudbury, Suffolk
The Pole Factor was launched in September 2011 as a round of collective events to help people of any style and experience, age, sex and dance background to get on stage and perform, for the fun of it, or to take it to the competition side of it.
The competition side of this event scores you points, which if you are the highest scoring performers of the event you get through to the semi final. If on the same night as the final you get through, then you are in the finals and have to dance again, all on May 5th in Sudbury, Suffolk.
The winner is being awarded fantastic prizes, magazine coverage, MTM radio coverage, makeup, photography, makeover, and a one off video shoot.
The video shoot is the main prize, as all the performers from their first show will be getting live feedback from the judges on their style, music genre choice, how well they execute their moves and how well their dance comes across to the audience.
We are trying to 'box' the styles, Rap / Hip-Hop is your freestyle, Classical music is your contemporary type dance and pop / rock is the sporty style.
So from here at the final the winner gets to choose the artist of their choice from MTM radio and and will create a video with an unsigned act.
We have judges Jess Norris (Miss Pole Dance UK 2011), Zara Berry (UK Pole Artistes Champion 2011), Lou SaFire(dancer, performer, choreographer, instructor) Zara Lovette (dancer, perfomers instructor with 24 years experience), and at the final we have David Zongoli, and other high profile judges giving their voice of opinion and helping the contestants get the best out of themselves for future events.
We are so excited for the final already and we still have the last collective to get through yet.
All the finalists are getting FREE skype training via PoleSkivvies, and at the final we have the photographer Adam Jay offering a brilliant deal of a whole disc of pictures and 5 edited pictures too!!!
Next year we are opening up Pole Factor to go national. Any one who has the setting can take our paper work and judge their contestants and we hope to have a quarter, semi and grand final in 2012. Any potential schools from far away will then have a chance to enter this competition.
